Here are 50 Islamic quiz questions for kids with answers, in four rounds: easy (ages 4–6), medium (ages 7–9), Ramadan and Eid, and a family challenge. Each answer has a Qur’an or hadith reference where one exists, so you can read the source together. There is also a “Which Prophet am I?” riddle round and eight Islamic games.
How do you run an Islamic quiz with children?
Play in mixed-age teams, read each question twice, allow hints and tell the short story behind each answer. The learning happens in the story, not the score. A quiz of 10–15 questions is enough for young children; save the full 50 for a family evening or an Eid party.
| Age | Rounds | How many questions | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4–6 | Easy, plus the Ramadan and Eid round | 8–12 | Read aloud, picture hints, everyone gets a point for trying |
| 7–9 | Medium, Ramadan and Eid, riddles | 15–20 | Teams, written answers, a bonus for the Qur’an reference |
| 10+ and adults | Challenge round | 10–15 | Mixed teams with a younger child on each |
The references are given as surah:ayah, so “11:37” means Surah 11, ayah 37. You can look any of them up on Quran.com.

Which quiz answers often trip people up?
A few answers need a little care, especially when an older child pushes back.
- The shortest surah. Al-Kawthar, Al-‘Asr and An-Nasr each have three ayat. Al-Kawthar is counted the shortest because it has the fewest words.
- Bismillah and At-Tawbah. At-Tawbah is the only surah that doesn’t open with “Bismillah”, but Surah An-Naml contains it twice, once inside the story of Sulayman’s letter (27:30). So “Bismillah” still appears 114 times.
- “25 Prophets”. This is the number named in the Qur’an by the usual count. Many more Prophets were sent whose names we are not told (Qur’an 40:78).
- The five pillars. In the hadith they are listed as the shahadah, prayer, zakah, Hajj and fasting in Ramadan (Sahih al-Bukhari 8). Children often learn them in a different order, and both are fine.
- Maryam. She is the only woman named in the Qur’an, and a whole surah (Surah 19) carries her name.
Riddle round: “Which Prophet am I?”
Read each clue aloud and let teams guess. Peace be upon them all.
- “I preached to my people for 950 years and built an Ark.” Nuh (29:14)
- “I dreamed of eleven stars, the sun and the moon bowing down.” Yusuf (12:4)
- “I spoke as a baby in the cradle.” Isa (19:29–30)
- “I called to Allah from the darkness inside a great fish.” Yunus (21:87)
- “I broke the idols, and the fire became cool for me.” Ibrahim (21:58–69)
- “My staff became a snake, and the sea parted for my people.” Musa (20:19–21; 26:63)
- “A hoopoe brought me news of a queen.” Sulayman (27:20–22)

What Islamic games can kids play?
These eight games turn the same knowledge into play, and most need only paper and a pen.
- Islamic Pictionary. Draw objects from the stories (the Ark, a basket, a fish, a lantern) and guess the Prophet or the festival. Never draw the Prophets themselves.
- Prophet charades. Act out an object or event, such as rowing the Ark or parting the sea with a staff.
- Alif–ba hunt. Hide cards with Arabic letters around the room; children find them in order.
- Surah bingo. Make bingo cards with the names of short surahs. Recite the opening of each one; children mark the surah they hear.
- True or false. “Ramadan is the ninth month: true or false?” (True.) Children jump left for true, right for false.
- Memory pairs. Matching cards: a Prophet’s name and an object (Nuh and the Ark, Musa and the staff, Yunus and the fish, Sulayman and the hoopoe).
- Guess the word. Guess a word letter by letter: “Zamzam”, “Kaaba”, “Madinah”.
- Kindness treasure hunt. Each clue leads to a small task, such as tidying the shoe rack or making a card for someone at home.
How do you check the answers together?
Look up the reference on Quran.com and read the verse in translation together. It is a lovely follow-up to a quiz, and it shows children where the answers come from. If a child asks something you are not sure about, say “Let’s find out together” and check a trusted source or ask their madrasa teacher. Questions without a reference above are well-established facts of Islamic history and practice.
